Allstar
National Update
Back to Shakespeare County Raceway for the 4th round of the MSA
championship and wow was it a different track, all thanks to the
crew who did the preparation.
Having done damage at the last meeting all was back together and
we were raring to go and test out the still new to us clutch settings
First and only pass on Saturday was 6.86 at 207.37 mph and I pulled
the chutes early so the car had potential.
Sunday’s
two sessions were a tyre shake 6.92 and a blower belt chucking
7.69 but still good mph of 212.26. So we had qualified in second
spot and were paired against the other funny car of Doug Ripley
for first round of eliminations, and Doug Bond in the dragster
had a bye.
Doug had clutch problems after warm up so could only stage and
we had another tyre shake run but short shifted and got down track
with a slower time but high mph of 218.45.
In the final Doug Bond did a burnout and drop intake valves so
it left me to solo through for the final, but I went for a full
pass anyway.
And what a pass that was it left hard drifted a little mid track
and pulled hard all the way down, I stopped on track in the shut
down area and waited for the crew arrive, You know I said they
were noisy at the pod with the 6.61, they were even louder this
time
I had run 6.30 at 219.51 mph dropping my personal best by three
tenths.
So we are now in second place in the Championship just 10 points
behind Dave Wilson in the ACI dragster.
Hope to see you all at the FIA Euro finals next week but some
more repairs and parts are needed.
