Set up on Thursday and started the car up Friday and all was well.
Saturday dawned bright and weather good (no rain) first pass launched hard but took a dive for the wall so backed off and went again ran a 7.55 at 192.36 mph, not bad for first pass out. Second run left lane slightly slower 60ft but straight run with a 6.82 at 213.28mph.
We were very pleased with out first days qualifying and looking forward to improving on times through out the weekend, with some fine-tuning on the clutch and then fuel system.

Sunday on the other hand was a different start very misty at first but had burnt off by the time we were called out. Third pass back in right hand lane and back with a 1.09 60ft and good increments all the way done to the 1000ft then all hell let loose. The crank said I give up in a big way – journal 5/6 went to Australia, the clutch and transmission parted company. When I eventually stopped the fire crew were on me and pushed me off the track. I was then met by the crew who had been hooping and hollering at the personal best ET of 6.287.

On getting back to the pits we surveyed the damage we could see, windows in each side of the block and lots of broken bit everywhere.
All the safety equipment did their jobs and all I seem to have is a couple of bruises and a stiff neck for a few days.

As I write this we are still accessing the damage to the clutch and transmission and we haven’t taken the engine out yet!!! But the block is definitely junk.

Our aim is to rebuild and return but at the moment its beyond our means.
